The Laboratory of Applied Bio-Acoustics (UPC - LAB) at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC) is a leader in European bioacoustics. Coordinates SEAMPHONI project and leads WP4 - Support to protective management practices.
Helmholtz-zentrum fur ozeanforschung kiel (GEOMAR)
GEOMAR researches the global ocean from the seafloor to the atmosphere, with multiple international oceanic expeditions every year. In the project, GEOMAR will organise and carry out the multi-week oceanic expedition to map and assess potential Madeira OMA MPA locations, and contribute with expertise on optical methods, eDNA sampling, image annotation and workflows, as well as food web assessments.

The NUID UCD Department of Civil Engineering will contribute to climate change impact modelling and a roadmap towards resilience in Task 4.3.
Syddansk universitet (SDU)
Leveraging its renown in the international scientific community and its strong contact with regional MPAs, SDU leads WP3 on ecosystem services assessment.
Universidad de santiago de compostela (USC)
Is a public institution endowed with autonomy and provides essential public service to the community. USC's unique research centre, Cross-Interdisciplinary Research in Environmental Technologies (CRETUS) leads the environmental and social LCA of the project (WP6 - Solution validation and roadmap toward protected seas) and will also coordinate Task 3.1. on participatory analysis of ecosystem services.
Norwegian research centre (NORCE)
Is an independent research institute that conducts research to facilitate informed and sustainable choices for the future. Experienced in bioacoustics and eDNA, NORCE will ensure the definition of KPIs for the designed platforms in Task 2.2 and leads the One Ocean Expedition 2 (OOE 2).
Senckenberg gesellschaft fur naturforschung (SGN)
Is a pioneer research centre using eDNA, equipped with a PromethION sequencer, they lead WP6 - Solution validation and roadmap toward protected seas and participate in large-scale eDNA monitoring in WP2 - Innovative biodiversity monitoring techniques.
Agência regional para o desenvolvimento da investigação, tecnologia e inovação - associação (ARDITI)
ARDITI promotes actions for the modernization and development of Madeira. In partnership with the Marine and Environmental Science Centre (MARE), they lead WP2 dedicated to innovative biodiversity monitoring techniques.
Wwf european policy programme (WWF EPO) and Wwf portugal
WWF EPO aims at ensuring ecosystems resilience and sustainability. Having established strong and historical bonds with the European Commission, United Nations instances and policy-makers, is in charge of SEAMPHONI’s policy recommendations (Task 7.4). WWF Portugal is a national organisation affiliated to WWF that aims to implement the global organisation's conservation strategy at the level of Portugal, through local stakeholder engagement and advocacy in WP7 - Policy recommendations for improved management and new business schemes and WP8 - Dissemination, Communication, Synergies and Clustering.
EurOcean
It is an independent, non-profit, scientific organization founded in 2002. It supports European Ocean Science and Technology advances by fostering information exchange, interaction, and innovation among its members, the ocean community, and society. EurOcean is the leader of WP8 - Dissemination, Communication, Synergies and Clustering and contributes to WP7.
Din deutsches institut fuer normung ev (DIN E.V.)
Is the German National Standardisation Body and member of CEN and ISO. DIN will provide guidance to the consortium on standardisation issues (leading Task 8.5).
Tecnicas y servicios de ingeniería, s.l. (TSI)
Is a specialist in noise and vibrations, and has a proven track record in underwater acoustics, research project participation and participation in several standardisation committees on URN. They will support initial acoustic measurements, and vessel/OWF' noise and vibration monitoring.
Submariner network for blue growth ewiv (SUB)
It is a network organisation experienced with multi-actor stakeholder engagement, C&D&E&R, transferability of solutions and results. SUB contributes to innovation management and networking and exchange with relevant projects and initiatives (WP1), community building, capacity building and upskilling, exploitation and upscaling (WP7).

Is an Austrian high-tech R&D SME with a multidisciplinary team. The company's new IoT software platform Pharos Navigator® will support rapid prototyping of the IMDTs of complex bio-physical cyber systems in WP5 - Intelligent Marine Digital Twin.
Industrial management consulting slovakia, s.r.o. (IMC)
Is a SME that provides digital manufacturing and software engineering services since 2005. They built a strong partnership with GOLEM in several previous projects and will support the implementation of the IMDT leading WP5 - Intelligent Marine Digital Twin.
Quiet oceans (QO)
Is a French SME, leader in modelling anthropogenic noise impact and mapping marine soundscapes. In SEAMPHONI, they will build the MPA Acoustic Atlas (Task 4.1).
Universidad de alicante (UA)
The UA Department of Ecology research team participated in several EU projects related to marine conservation, fisheries, oceanography, and applied mathematics to ecology and environmental management. They lead Task 3.5.
Universite de la reunion (UR)
Is the first and only European university in the Indian Ocean. Established in 1982, UR will manage one of the six demonstration sites of SEAMPHONI and contribute notably the food web analysis (Task 3.3).
Greenov-ites (GRE)
A start-up launched in 2021, will provide new technologies for sustainable, low cost and non-invasive acoustic monitoring tested in WP2 - Innovative biodiversity monitoring techniques.
Asociacion edmaktub (EDMAK)
Is a NGO dedicated to the study of the aquatic environment, especially cetaceans. Their Fin Whale Project, on the Catalan coast, serves as the basis for the Spanish site. EDMAK will be involved in monitoring the presence of cetaceans in the Spanish Med. Sea and will contribute to the study of the effect of climate change and the promotion and regulation of MPAs (WP2 - Innovative biodiversity monitoring techniques & WP4 - Support to protective management practices)
Turkiye bilimsel ve teknolojik arastirma kurumu (TUBITAK)
The Tubitak Marmara Research Center’s Marine Research and Technologies Research Group (MRT-RG) will contribute to eDNA monitoring activities included in WP2 - Innovative biodiversity monitoring techniques.
Louis David (LOUIS)
Is a macro underwater photographer with more than 10 years of experience in the field. He will lead Educ’Ocean in Task 8.4.
Light & move bv - lorenzo mittiga
Is a marine photographer located in Bonaire Island (NL). He was the official photographer of the Antarctic expedition ACE 2023. Lorenzo will be involved in Task 8.4 (Educ’ocean) to address the lack of citizen visibility and awareness regarding OMAs, which results in lower engagement in their protection.
